This Registry contains a list of individuals who are not eligible for employment in Texas by a school district, district of innovation, open-enrollment charter school, other charter entity, regional education service center, or shared services arrangement.

Registry Search Results

The Registry Status definitions are as follows:
Not Eligible For Hire - The individual is not eligible to be employed by a public school and may not be hired in any role.
Under Investigation - Pursuant to Texas Education Code (TEC) §22A.054 and §22A.101, a certified educator, non‑certified employee, or service provider may be placed on the Registry while a formal investigation is ongoing. Placement may occur based on allegations that the individual:
  • Abused or committed unlawful acts involving a student or minor.
  • Threatened violence against a student or minor.
  • Engaged in or solicited a romantic or sexual relationship with a student or minor.
  • Communicated inappropriately with a student or minor or failed to maintain appropriate professional boundaries; or
  • Involved in certain qualifying arrests or misconduct.
In addition, certified educators may be placed under investigation for allegations involving controlled substances, misuse or misappropriation of organizational funds or property, fraudulent or misrepresented professional credentials, or criminal offenses occurring on school property or at school related events.
Other field definitions are as follows:
Date on Registry - Represents the date an individual was found to be not eligible for employment in a public school. The earliest date listed will be January 2, 2020, which was the date the Registry was launched.
Approximate Age - Calculated as the number of years between the current year and the person's birth year.
