PHYSICAL-THERAPY-IND-CODE indicates whether the student receiving special education and related services received, or is scheduled to receive, physical therapy services during the current school semester. (See 34 CFR §300.34.)

Physical therapy must be provided by a professional licensed by the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners. A physical therapy assistant (LPTA) may provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist in accordance with the standards of the profession.
