The data that is reported to the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) is used to analyze Texas public education data through data reports, evaluations, Texas Academic Performance Reports/Accountability ratings, and funding calculations.

Child Find
Child Find combines State Performance Plan Indicator 11
(SPPI-11) and State Performance Plan Indicator 12 (SPPI-12) in the TSDS Core

requirements related to special education Child Find activities.
Data Submission Requirements
Data extracted from the LEA data systems(s) must be formatted to reflect what is in the Texas Education Data Standards(TEDS). Every LEA in the state will use the same extensible markup language (XML) formats to submit data. The LEA’s data will be loaded to the Education Data Warehouse (EDW) where it will be subject to the business rules and validations prior to being certified by the LEA superintendent.
